There are many police patches to choose from; these come with different colors of lettering and background.  Prices vary a lot depending on what type of patch you purchase, the size of the patch and where you purchase it from.  Police patches can be purchased from online retailers quite easily. There are two different types of police patches.  Solid fill patches are fully stitched.  You will not see even a millimeter of fabric in the background.  These patches, naturally, cost more than fabric background patches where there is a design and logo, but the fabric can clearly be seen in the background.  There is not a significant price difference - solid fill patches cost around $1.00 more apiece than fabric background patches, although the prices do vary depending on how many you order.  If you order a lot of patches, though, even a dollar extra per patch can add up to a lot.      Many online retailers that specialize in making custom police patches also have a minimum amount of patches that you are required to order.
